I need advice for which dr?

my local obgyn is great. i used him with my last pregnancy but i also had complications and ended up having a emerg. c-section after being sent to another hospital with a nicu for my daughter. im pregnant once again and im confused. the drs at the specialist hospital insisted i come back to them with my next pregnancy bc im considered high risk and the nicu would be down the hall if needed when i give birth. but it was never put in writing and my local obgyn would have no proof of that so he may not write me a referal(i will need one since its in another county) what should i do? just try and talk it out with my local dr or tell him thats what i want?
