The Pregnancy Discrimination Act GA laws?

I have a question about The Pregnancy Discrimination Act and GA laws. My Sister is pregnant, the baby has gastroschisis, her work at first was fine and told her to take any time she need, and it would not cut in to her maternity leave. Now they are saying that any time she has been off and any up coming time will come out of her maternity leave. She thinks that they are trying to make her quite her job now, because they don't want to pay her and they know she will need a longer leave because the baby will be in the NICU for a undetermined amount of time after birth. So I was wanted to know if any of this is in violation of her Civil Rights.
